Case Study: Producing & Rigging Outdoor Projection Screens

Legendary rock band Phish hosted their 10th Magnaball extravaganza at the racetrack in Watkins Glen, New York. The 40,000 fan sellout event featured music, fun, and multi-media extravaganzas over the course of a 3-day weekend. A centerpiece of the festival was a 175’ wide projection screen rigged to the back of the race track bleachers. Rose Brand Inc. provided the screen, surrounding masking, and installation management. Working with Moment Factory, we specified the outdoor screen material with the contrast finish necessary to enhance the Moment Factory projection designs. Rose Brand Technical Services Department worked with Mountain Productions and the event producers, Lambda Productions, to develop a strategy to safely install this massive screen and masking.
