Custom stretch shapes, Polaris Stars and beads create an Emerald City that any Wizard would be proud of!
The Trump Taj Mahal Special Events Department in Atlantic City contacted us during the initial planning stages of their New Year’s Eve Celebration for 2008. Their design concept was based on the Emerald City and the Wizard of Oz. The objective was to create a dimensional interpretation of the Emerald City using Stretch Hoop Columns of varying heights and diameters. At 30’ high with diameters of up to 36", these columns pushed our typical Stretch Hoop Columns dimensions. The end result hung beautifully and offered a fitting surface to capture and radiate the lighting units rigged inside. Each Hoop Column had a matching hoop cap that was needed to contain and enhance the internal lighting effect. To prevent unwanted light leakage between columns and cap, our Sewing Department customized each hoop cap with an additional skirting panel that draped down inside each column allowing for a seamless flow between column and cap.
Additional visual impact was provided through the use of our hanging Polaris Stars. Touches of sparkle were created with strands of our Disc Beads.
